16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
“Because no one ever achieved anything great for the Lord that didn’t first have to overcome unbelievable opposition; in fact, great opposition usually means great opportunity! (See I Corinthians 16:9)”—
“I was called, gifted, equipped and am expected to be a HERALD of the GOSPEL!!! Once again, if I am not focused on proclaiming the Gospel to a world that does not know Christ…then I am NOT fulfilling HIS primary calling on my life!”—
When God speaks clearly to you then you have a choice…
You can make plans…OR make excuses!
People who make excuses DO NOT change or impact the world around then.
They get STUCK because they keep obsessing over what God may want next for their lives when they refuse to deal with what He is speaking to RIGHT NOW! (Please see Ezekiel 14:1-6…when God deals with an issue He will CONTINUALLY deal with THAT issue for as long as it takes to be confessed and repented of. AND…God is relentless!!!)
“Every now and then I do a quick audit of my life to check my priorities. I ask myself: Am I working to please people, myself, or God? It can only be one. If my life is out of balance, it is usually because I gave one area more priority than I should have.”—
“Don’t be selfish. Don’t live to make a good impression on others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourself … Your attitude should be the same that was shown us by Jesus Christ, who, though he was God, did not demand and cling to his right as God”—
If you ask God to use you, he will: I invite God into my life daily, to use me for the advancement of the Kingdom..sometimes I find myself in shock that he uses me in such mighty ways. It both makes me feel honored & humbled.
I Inspire: Lil Ole Me, is inspiring people..who would have ever thunk that?….ME…I desire to Inspire..hence the name of the Blog..LOL. It makes me feel so appreciated to know that my Life is inspiring somebody. This makes me work harder…
Strong Foundations, wont crack: As I am in a rebuilding phase with one of my friends, I am reminded that Strong Foundations dont crack. It may have been awhile since we have been in a good place in our friendship, but I was shown that all the things that we have built in the past- IS STILL STANDING. All we have to do now is Keep Pushing Forward.
I LOVE being a good friend:of course this is not the thought that went through my head as my phone rung at 3am w/ a friend on the line saying “They needed to talk”..LOL..BUT, I instantly went into Superfriend mode as I frequently do. I strive to be a good friend to those I call friends, because I expect the same things in return. Helping others are therapeutic for me.
“Stand firm then, with the belt of
truth buckled around your waist, with the
breastplate of righteousness in place, and
with your feet fitted with the readiness that
comes from the gospel of peace. In addition
to all this, take up the shield of faith, with
which you can extinguish all the flaming
arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of
salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which
is the word of God. ( Ephesians 6:14-17 )”—
“I have to remind myself that some birds aren’t meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up DOES rejoice. Still, the place you live in is that much more drab and empty that they’re gone. I guess I just miss my friend.”—
Don’t Quit (one the most classic motivational poems)
When things go wrong as they sometimes will; When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill; When the funds are low, and the debts are high; And you want to smile, but you have to sigh; When care is pressing you down a bit Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.
Success is failure turned inside out; The silver tint of the clouds of doubt; And you can never tell how close you are; It may be near when it seems afar. So, stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit - It’s when things go wrong that you mustn’t quit.
“The apostle Paul said, “One thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:13–14).”—
When we love God first, our love for ourselves and others fall in line. We begin to see ourselves and others as God sees us. This is not the human “love is blind” mode. We look through a more focused lens, not rose-colored ones. We still see the warts, the bad side, the mistakes, the hurts. But, with God’s help, we view that with compassion and mercy because that is how He views us.
If you and I can try to love the Lord with all our heart, mind and soul, then our attitude is metamorphosed into being in sync with the Almighty who created all there is then proclaimed it as good. We recognize we are not perfect, neither are those we love. We are all tainted by the sin of Adam and, like him and Eve, have each fallen short of the glory of God as Paul told the Romans. That is why we are all in need of a Savior.
